The Corky Sea Finger is related to the popular Encrusting Gorgonian common to aquarists but grows in an upright form, creating thick rods with star-like polyps.
These gorgonians are photosynthetic and need moderate to high light, but they are also filter feeders and will benefit from and grow more rapidly with supplemental feedings of foods like brine shrimp, Cyclopeeze and similar items. They also need moderate to high flow.
Gorgonians pose no direct threat to other corals, but can spread and grow rapidly if well-fed and in proper conditions. Do not place close to other nonaggressive corals or invertebrates that may become overgrown by this gorgonian.
