Chemical filter media, ideal for use in all API Filstar XP and Rena Filstar XP canister filters. Nitra Zorb is a blend of natural synthetic ion-exchange resins that remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrate in freshwater aquariums. When used in new aquariums, Nitra-Zorb controls the level of toxic ammonia and nitrite during the initial development of the biological filter. In established aquariums, it helps control sudden surges in ammonia and nitrite caused by the addition of new fish, or anytime ammonia or nitrite is detected. Comes in a fully rechargeable 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" pouch.
One pouch treats 55 gallons.
API Rena Filstar Canister Filters
Rinse pouch under tap water. Place pouch in path of water flow in aquarium filter. For new aquariums or when ammonia or nitrite is detected, recharge every 5 days for the first month, then every 2 weeks for the second month. For an established aquarium, recharge every 2 weeks. When nitrate is detected, recharge every 5 days until nitrate is reduced to 20 ppm or less. Replace pouch after 2 months. To recharge, dissolve 4 tbsp of API aquarium salt in 8 oz. of warm tap water. Soak pouch for 2 hours then rinse lightly in tap water.
We have a small aquariuj (5 gal). The nitra sorb packet didn't fit in our filter unless I removed the filter media. I assume that larger tanks with larger filters...this would not be an issue. It did get our nitrates down.

Once again, I am very happy with this product.
By using it in my Filstar XP3 canister, I know that the water is Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate free. I change it out once-a-month and I am confident that all is well and that no toxic chemicals are lurking around harming my fish.
