I have this filter on a 125 gallon aquarium. It is 4 years old and still runs great. My water clarity is crystal. Now you may have a bad experience with this brand of filters and say that it's crap but I also have fluval filters which Evernote glorifies and that's the one that gives me a hard time.

I think the other user had a bad experience, I did not find the plastic quality to be less than similar products. For the price, if you read on other sites like Amazon you will receive mostly favorable reviews--especially for the price which is much less than Eheim or Fluval canister filters and the component parts are also less expensive, but decently made.

I bought the version for a 150 gal tank. It arrived cracked but upon inspection the entire filter including the inlet/oult nozzels was made of very thin low grade plastic. The nozzles will fail in use and the entire thing is poorly made. Dont buy it I sent it back and exchanged it for the Marineland filter which is of better quality..
