HIKARI CICHLID FLOATING FOOD

by

I waited with great eager for mu supplies to arrive so my Cichlids would feast on the highly famed and over rated Hikari Floating Cichlid pellet, flakes. First of all, maybe my cichlids are extraordinary, but the are middle and mostly lower tanks swimmers and 'hang arounders.' They do not even look at the floating cichlid pellets, but wheb they decide to go to the top for a quick view, they retreat hastily. Those that take a nip or bite of the Hikari pellets quickly spit it out on the way down. They obiousluy rather starve than eat this stuff, Hour and hours ater the food is ;mushy' and still floating on top. I decided to remove some of the soggy, floating food with a small net to prevent food rot contamination..In conclusion, "cichlids are not top feeders!!", at least mine aren't. 4 big tanks and about40 cichlids
