Flourite is a unique gravel specifically designed for the planted aquarium. Essential nutrients are already in the gravel, so no supplements are needed It can be mixed with other gravel or used alone. For best results at least half of the substrate mixture should be of Flourite. Freshwater only.

great substrate 5/10/2013 Reviewer: stanjam Like most soil or nutrient rich substrate, it is very messy. Some people rinse the heck out of it, but this is just throwing money and nutrients. I use this as a base layer with pea gravel on top in my planted 75. Use a plate to diffuse water when filling tank. Cloudiness will go away in a few days. See it for yourself at stanjam.tumblr.com
