Details

Flourite is a unique gravel specifically designed for the planted aquarium. Essential nutrients are already in the gravel, so no supplements are needed. It can be mixed with other gravel or used alone. For best results at least half of the substrate mixture should be of Flourite. Freshwater only.

The size and color of the gravel and substrates listed can vary due to natural availability and the resolution of your computer monitor.

For help selecting how much gravel you need for your aquarium, check our Aquarium Substrate Buying Guide.

Instructions

Although pre-washed, it may be rinsed before use to remove residual dust. Dust can also be minimized by filling aquarium slowly and dispersing water so that the Flourite bed is not disturbed. Slight initial cloudiness is normal and will clear rapidly (2–12 hours). To shorten the cloudiness period use Seachem Clarity in conjuction with mechanical filtration (such as filter floss).

Disappointed

by

The description should reveal the fact that it seems to color the water. I tried it in my Fluval Chi and it has tinted everything yellow. There would be no other reason for this as that was the only addition to the tank.

Perfect, as described

by

A good clay based substrate that says what it claims. Disregard reviewers complaining about coloring or cloudy water. Everyone knows you are supposed to HEAVILY rinse this product beforehand, as there is a lot of residual dust from the fracting process.
