First, to "Not Worth It", you bought it used, did you expect the filter to look new? Duh. Next time buy it new or don't complain if it is not in perfect condition.
I found the set up easy but I had to buy gravel, a plant or two which added to the cost. My fault, I didn't read the contents listed on the box.
So far me little beta is fine and I may get another one. The Mini Bow comes with a divider.
I've had this tank for three years. I think that the price is a little high for what you get, but pricing out everything that they give you by themselves it adds up to about the same. I really liked it at first but the last year has been terrible. I have had to nurse the filter along because it's been gradually dying. Also, it scratches easily so I have to be REALLY careful when I clean it. Overall, the tank has been fine for my betta fish and her cory cat friends and I would buy it again. I just wish it were less expensive.
This tank is okay for like, temoorary housing, but the filter is crap, the tank scratches VERY easy, the light setup is useless and water gets to it constantly, the rim leaks. Makes a good temoorary home for smaller fish during moves or quarantine though if light and proper filtration arent a must.

While the filter isn't strong enough to make good air/water mixing, it is nice for what it is. I plan on getting some live plants to alleviate that. It sits on my desk at work and people love it...especially the aquatic frog I have it in right now. Great for fish lovers.
Good Small Space Solution 12/30/2012
I have been quite happy with my 2.5 gallon MiniBow. It's true that it's relatively pricey for the volume. You could probably get a 5 or 10 gallon tank set up for not much more money. That said, I didn't have the space for a larger tank at the time and this kit fit my needs.
The included filter works great. Changing the cartridge is easy.
I discarded the included food sample in favour of betta pellets, krill, and blood worms.
The included water conditioner sample worked well and actually lasted quite a while due to the small volume of the tank. The included cupon was used to buy a small bottle of Aqueon brand water conditioner once the sample ran out.
The included light was a nice touch and illuminated the tank very well. However, condensation appears to have caused some corrosion as the light eventually stopped working and had to be removed.
All-in-all I have found this to be a compact and durable product that meets my needs and expectations.
The packaging is somewhat misleading in its suggested inhabitants. Upon doing further research, most of the species pictured or listed on the box are not actually suitable for a tank of this size. It's pretty much limited to housing a lone betta.
You'll want to purchase a small heater and thermometer with this as well. I picked up a nice little 10 W heater to go with it that's done a great job of keeping the water temperature up for my betta.

I've had a couple of these tank for bettas for a few years now and have been very satisfied when everything is said and done. The bow shape lets me see my fish clearly, the filter tube is unobtrusive, and the filter cartridges and system are super easy to change and clean. The only gripes I have are that they are not perfectly level (I've placed the tanks on multiple surfaces just to test that out) and that the lid has a large gap in the back that any "adventurous" fish could jump out of. Overall though great tank if you can find them at the Black Friday prices I got mine at. Btw, please don't listen to fishyfrends' review before mine. Anyone who buys a tank kit pre-owned should expect it to be, well, used already. No duh.
Not Worth It 6/3/2012
This tank isn't worth the money or the headaches. I bought this tank after reading mixed reviews online. I decided to try it. First off, mine was a little less expensive than the one here, but it was still ridiculously priced for a 2.5 gallon tank. Mine was previously owned and used. The water conditioner that comes with it was ripped open and all of it was squirted out. My filter looked like it had been used, too. It had food particles in it. The tank was scratched, both on the inside and out. I was not happy with it and I really think that you can get a better tank for a lot less money.
