Manucomplanus varians "Staghorn Hermit Crab" |
|
| That Fish Place |
|
Starting at:
$24.99
Staghorn Hermit Crabs have unique shells formed by a commensal hydroid that may easily be mistaken for a hard coral. The hydroid, Janaria mirabilis, encrusts the shell that the crab is living in, then it grows in antler coral style, camouflaging the crab carrying it. The shape of the hydroid will vary on each crab.
