Also known as Jewel Stone, Christmas Worm Rock is a coral, usually Porites sp., that is colonized by small tube worms with spiraling crowns shaped like a christmas tree. These little worms are a variety of colors and retreat quickly into their hidden tubes when disturbed or startled. Each rock will have a variable number of worms and the Porites colony may also vary in shape and color.
