Locate the position(s) where you intend to bulkhead the chiller before drilling any holes. If you intend to install multiple units in a single sump/prefilter/aquarium, ensure that the units are spaced so that the heat sinks do not contact each other.
The chiller uses a fan to dissapate heat created during the cooling process, so it is very important to have proper ventilation. If not, the system will not function properly and could be permanently disabled by the system's built in safety feature.
To achieve a watertight bulkhead installation: drill a 1 1/4" diameter hole into your sump/prefilter/aquarium. Remove the white nylon nut from the threaded probe. Insert the probe through the hole with the clear silicon washer on the outside (dry side) of the reservoir wall. Tighten the nylon nut on the threaded probe.
The probe can be inserted through the top, side or bottom of a reservoir and will function properly provided that there is adequate venitaltion around the fan motor.
