Pundamilia nyererei "Ruti Island" - Juvenile
Dominant male Ruti Island Nyererei have a beautiful black body with a red back, tail, anal fin, and dorsal, and yellow bars along the middle of the body. The dorsal fin may have a pale blue edge. This fish was previously known as Haplochromis nyererei.
They are relatively aggressive and should only be kept with other fish of similar size and temperament. Tank decor can consist of rocky caves and plenty of open swimming areas. They are opportunistic feeders in the wild and will eat a variety of foods in captivity. Try flake, pellet, and meaty frozen items.
