The Black-backed Butterfly is white with diagonal black lines converging into a large black patch in the dorsal region. It has a yellow face and fins, and a vertical black bar through its eyes.
The natural diet of this butterfly consists of soft coral polyps, so avoid placing them in a reef aquarium. They can be maintained on a variety of frozen foods, such as mysis shrimp and foods enriched with spirulina.
