Sarcophyton sp. "Toadstool Leather Coral" - Large

Most Toadstools are a good choice for the entry level reef aquarist who has had success with mushrooms and polyps. With the exception of yellow leathers most are very hardy, have low to medium light requirements and can tolerate many different environments. Although this is not an excuse to let water quality deteriorate in the aquarium. Polyps protrude from the upper surface and their length can be highly variable depending upon the species. Place in direct light with a medium water movement. They should be fed a form of invertebrate food and Iodide needs to be added on an occasional basis to ensure the proper health of the leather.
