Chaetostoma milesi (L187a) "Spotted Rubbernose Pleco"
The Spotted Rubbernose Pleco is also known as the Spotted Bulldog Pleco. It is a greyish brown catfish with a somewhat triangular body and a wide, blunt snout. It has small black spots. The scales are hard and armor-like.
Rubbernose Plecos are peaceful fish that are well suited for most community aquariums. They are good scavengers, and will eat algae as well as leftover foods. Small worms or crustaceans can be offered as a treat.
Rubbernose Plecos are hardy fish as long as good water quality is maintained. They prefer well oxygenated water with good circulation. They are nocturnal fish, and require some hiding places such as rock or driftwood crevices which they will use during the day.
