Chaetodon xanthurus "Pearlscale Butterflyfish"
The Pearlscale Butterflyfish has large, dark-edged scales that give the fish a lattice or checkered pattern. A bright orange patch connects the rear of the dorsal fin to the anal fin, and there is a vertical orange band across the tail. A dark vertical band runs across the eye.
Pearlscale Butterflies are generally peaceful but shy fish. They eat coral polyps in the wild, and should not be kept in a reef aquarium. Pearlscale Butterflies a require meaty diet with some vegetable matter.
