Serranus tortugarum "Chalk Bass"
The Chalk Bass is a small hardy fish that is great for beginners or experienced aquarists. It has a bluish body with a series of brown bars along the dorsal area. They need plenty of hiding places and non-aggressive tankmates.
Chalk Bass are ideal for reef aquariums where they can hide among the coral and live rock. They do best in a tank with live rock to supply amphipods and other crustaceans to eat, but they will eat small meaty frozen foods like brine shrimp and mysis shrimp.
