Leptastrea sp. "Crater Coral" - Small
Crater Corals (Leptastrea sp.) are encrusting or dome-shaped colonies similar in appearance to Goniastrea sp. and Montastrea sp. corals. They have small round or polygonal corrallites that do not share their walls with thier neighbors. Color can vary highly in these colonies; purples, browns, greens and reds are not uncommon.
Requirements can vary depending on the color and origin of the coral. Brighter colored colonies generally have higher light requirements while flatter, more encrusting colonies are found in higher water flow. Generally, Crater Corals need moderate to high light and flow. They have low aggressiveness and are very hardy overall.
