Parambassis lala "Highfin Glassfish"
The Highfin Glassfish is a small fish that is almost completely transparent. The organs and skeleton of the fish can easily be seen through its scales and flesh. The dorsal fin has two points, and gives the appearance of being two separate fins.
The Highfin Glassfish is a peaceful, schooling fish that is best kept in groups of 6 or more. It can be kept with most smaller community species. However, it is timid, and easily harassed by larger, or more aggressive fish.
It is relatively hardy as long as good water quality is maintained. The addition of some brackish salt to the water helps to reduce stress. However, they can be very sensitive to poor water conditions and cool water temperatures. Provide many hiding places using plants, driftwood, and other decorations.
Highfin Glassfish will eat insect larvae, small crustaceans, and worms in their natural environment. In captivity, they will accept most flakes and small pellets, as well as frozen brine shrimp, daphnia, glassworms, and other meaty treats.
