Aquarium water is drawn into the canister through (rather than around) a succession of stacked media trays for full-contact filtration with virtually no bypass. The water is then returned to your aquarium, sparkling clean and fish healthy. And when it is time to service your Marineland C-Series filter, all you do is push a lever, turn the key and lift out the Stack n’ Flo Filter Trays.
In order to create and maintain a clean, healthy aquarium environment, the Marineland C-Series filters use three stages of filtration. Stage one mechanical filtration: Filter foam pads provide a large surface area for screening out dirt and trapping particulate debris. Stage two chemical filtration: Inside each carbon filter bag, fast-acting Black Diamond Carbon removes odors, discoloration and impurities. Stage three biological filtration: The BIO-Filter Balls and ceramic rings provide a large, multi-faceted surface area for the growth of beneficial ammonia-neutralizing bacteria.
