Myrichthys maculosus "Spotted Snake Eel"
The Spotted Snake Eel has an attractive pattern of dark, round spots on its slender cream-yellow body. These eels often burrow into the sandbed and emerge to feed on small crustaceans and other meaty tidbits. The timid nature of these eels allows them to be safely housed with other docile tank mates, and they are safe and at home in reef set-ups. They prefer a deep sand bed and some open area. Snake eels are not usually active feeders, and once you can get them to accept foods, they should be target fed.
