Cyphotilapia gibberosa "Ikola Blue"
Though C. gibberosa is very similar to C. frontosa in appearance, there are several physiological differences that set them apart. Gibberosa variants are found in the deep rocky waters of Southern Lake Tanganyika. Gibberosa has a higher body profile, a differently shaped nuchal hump, and six stripes instead of the frontosa's typical seven. Other differences in scale counts and arrangements set the two apart. These fish are mildly aggressive for their size and maternal mouthbrooders.
