Hephaestus carbo "Coal Grunter"
The Black Grunter is an Australian native. This interesting fish is an avid carnivore, feeding mainly on crustaceans and small fish. They hunt for shrimp, crayfish and other prey silently, but once a morsel is discovered a group of these fish will attack and devour the prey.
Black Grunters are aggressive by nature and are not suitable for community aqauriums unless the community is made up of larger tankmates that can take some badgering or get out of the way!
