Echinophyllia sp. "Miami Hurricane Chalice Coral Frag" (Jason Fox)

The Miami Hurricane Chalice features grey-green base color accented with brilliant orange corallites.

Echinophyllia is a colorful coral with a heavy tissue matter over its skeleton, and is easy to maintain in a home aquarium. It is a hardy species that will grow in almost any type of light environment but will grow best and have the brightest colors under moderate to high lighting. Caution should be taken when placing Echinophyllia near other corals as it has long sweeper tentacles that may sting them. Echinophyllia can easily be fed meaty foods such as mysis or krill, but will only feed at night.
