Though one of the more passive of the Parachromis cichlids, these fish are very aggressive and are best kept alone or in a species-only aquarium. They are carnivores and should be fed a varied diet of fresh, prepared and frozen meaty foods.

This fresh water cichlid is very aggressive as a juvenile but will grow to have absolutely beautiful colors! Not found in local petshops.

I picked up five of these in June. They are definitely aggressive, but this is mainly conspecific. I can not wait until their colors really start to show :)

This beautiful colored freshwater cichlid may be classified as aggressive, but it truly is NOT extremely or highly aggressive. Take caution when selecting tankmates. I would recommend housing this cichlid with semi-aggressive cichlids. Definitely a 5 star freshwater cichlid though.
Incorrect fish

Purchased 5 of these back in February. Received parachromis loisellei instead. 2nd set of fish I received that were not what they were stated. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because fish showed up healthy and are growing great.
