API Water Softener Pillow - Small - 2 oz.

Quickly softens water by removing calcium, magnesium and heavy metals. Protects tropical fish from ill effects of hard water, helps stabilize pH and eliminates crusty deposits. For freshwater aquariums.  Helps create an ideal environment for Discus, and other fish that thrive in lower pH soft water environments.  Pillow is easily recharged for multiple uses with the use of table salt. 

Treats up to 20 gallons of water.

Rinse pouch under tap water. Place pouch in path of water flow in aquarium filter. Activity of the pillow lasts 48 hours. After 48 hours, recharging is necessary. To recharge: dissolve 3 tbsp of API aquarium salt in 7 oz. of tap water. Rinse pouch in tap water then soak in solution for 2 hrs. Place back in filter, no need to rinse. When not in use, store pillow in salt solution--do not allow to dry. Replace when effectiveness is lost.
