Pizza Anemones (Cryptodendrum adhaesivum) spread out flat over rockwork or substrate like uncooked pizza dough. Their appearance is also like a pizza with a "crust" surrounding a flat central area. On these anemones, the "cheesy" area is covered with short branching tentacles. The "crust" is a different color than the center and is covered with dense, bead-like tentacles. These anemones are also called "Adhesive Anemones"; their tentacles are very sticky and can sting anything they come into contact with.

Pizza Anemones do need high light to survive but also eat meaty foods. Feed regularly with bits of fish flesh, clam, scallop, shrimp or similar items. They will spread out to cover the surface area around their anchor point, so use caution when putting into a reef tank with other established corals. The only clownfish known to naturally host in this anemone is the Clark's Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii).
