Green Astraea Coral - Dipsastraea/Montastraea sp.
Star Corals (Montastraea sp.) are wide-spread "reef building" that have created the foundation of many coral reefs worldwide. They are similar to the Favia sp. Moon Corals but can be identified from these corals by the individuals walls around each corallite - Favia sp. corals share these walls.
Star Corals are usually collected from shallow reefs with bright lighting and strong water movement. They are easy to maintain in captivity and can be found in many different color varieties.
