Live Rock availability is currently limited due to a governmental ban in the regions of the Pacific Ocean where it is collected.
We will be restocking as soon as it is available to us again. Thank you for your patience!

Live Rock is used as a base in many saltwater reef or fish-only aquariums. Not only does it provide a more natural appearance than manufactured decorated but it also is populated by living organisms like crustaceans, algae, and bacteria. These organisms and the minerals that make up the rock itself help to provide stability to the aquarium, give your tank residents a natural environment like that on the natural reefs, and provide a natural source of food for many marine organisms.

Every type of live rock has a different appearance depending on the area it was harvested from. These different areas also mean different types of algae and organisms have populated the rock. Fiji Live Rock is the most "natural" rock we have available. It is often uncured, meaning there may still be larger organisms like sponges and algae that have not died or decomposed. While these means you may have some unexpected bonuses that survive the curing process, it also means that this rock is not advised for established aquariums where decomposing organisms can affect water quality. The solid composition and fairly regular shape of these rocks makes it a good foundation to build upon in reef aquariums. Check out the video below to find out how to cure your live rock before adding it to your tank.

Nice rock

by

I calls and discussed my application with someone at the store. She was very helpful and even took the time to go and look at the available live rock before I ordered.

<br>The rock showed up as scheduled. The box was badly damaged and water had leaked out of the cooler soaking the cardboard. The rock was no worse for the wear however. The 45 pounds was really only 4 big pieces. I conditioned them in a separate aquarium for 1 week and had very little die off. They are now in my 90 gallon display tank. Overall very pleased!
