This filter works great. Just set it up, fill it with water and turn it on. It's runs quiet. Adjustable flow rate is a nice feature to the filter.

AquaClear is the only hanging filter I ever buy for my tanks. They're simply the best.

When th filter was running it was very good. But one night it was very noisy and the impeller was not moving and 5 minutes later the motion sounded like it was going to blow up. For the three months it was the best filter. But in the long run it had killed my mated par of convict cichlids and two large male convict cichlids

...It told me I'll forget in time. As the years went slowly by, it still hung by my aquarium's side. Like a fixture against my wall, change the sponge filter now and then, it kept working through it all, even after my Penguin broke again.

Works great until power outage, even for a few seconds, then looses it's prime and won't restart water flow, burning up motor. I had 5 of these in my fish room, and lost 2 of them in one outage, and another one in another outage! UNACCEPTABLE. Back to Whispers, which I've used successfully for 40 years!
