No glass,very rugged build quality!!!

Solid build. Have used for 5 yrs. on two tanks. like the no glass construction because I had a glass heater explode in in my face. I do have to ask for a longer lasting thermostat. 2 to 3 yrs is the the normal life on the 250 watt. best heater I have found!!!
