i got 2 of these and used them in the bird room they arent as bright as i would have liked but they will do

DO NOT BUY THIS BULB FOR BIRDS. This is fact, not opinion. Birds require 5,500K spectrum for natural light. This is rated at 7,200K. Much too bright, and can cause cataracts and eventual blindness in birds. Also the CRI is too low. But the worst part is - this is NOT a "Bird Bulb." This is made by a company that makes reptile bulbs, and it has simply been repackaged to be sold as bird bulbs. Not the same animals, not the same eyes. The packaging conveniently does not state all the required information about the bulb.
As well, the lamp that it fits into has a habit of being wobbly and falling over. This bulb contains mercury, and if it breaks, it most likely will poison your birds, and possibly your family. ALL CFL bulbs have warnings due to the mercury content, and could be fatal for children. Government standards are now phasing them out (after years of forcing us to buy them... go figure).
