Took me a bit to get it set to my liking but once I did it has worked great. I think it is a nice skimmer.

Works great, but can overflow cup if hang on tank

by

It works great. I have no complaints about the product or instructions. I do however STRONGLY recommend to anyone using this as a hang on tank skimmer:
1. Ensure drip loop on electrical cord!
2. Put a bucket or tray below the skimmer to catch any overflow from the cup, especially when you are first setting it up and adjusting it.
3. Ensure that there are no electrical outlets, wires or timers below where the skimmer hangs on the tank.
When I first set mine up, I woke up on the morning to find that during the initial adjustment period it started doing some heavy skimming during the night. The cup overflowed and ran down the electrical cord into the outlet and tripped the circuit breaker for all my tanks. Consquently, in addition to the three points above, do your initial setup and adjustment on a weekend, when you have time to tinker with it and watch it closely.
