Ultra Neon Goniastrea - Goniastrea sp.
The Closed Brain Coral (Goniastrea sp.) is similar to Maze Brains (Platygyra sp.) or Moon Corals (Favia sp. and Favites sp.). It has walled corallites that either form meandering valleys or cup-shaped craters. Some Closed Brain Coral species form columns but most form boulder-like colonies. Goniastrea corals are also known as Worm Corals, Worm Brains, or Honeycomb Corals. Closed Brain Corals need moderate to high light and water flow. They are fairy hardy and have low to moderate aggression levels.
