Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy Hinge - 30 in.

The backstrip was hard enough to insert onto the glass canopy, this was IMPOSSIBLE. I tried heating the plastic but it didn't help at all. This would have been a tight fit on a 1/16th inch thick glass canopy, I challenge anyone to insert it onto the 1/8th inch thick canopy it is advertised to do. I give it a 1/2 only so no one will think I just forgot to give it a rating.

I got my old tank out of storage and found my hinges were cracked. Bought these as a replacement thinking they were direct replacement. Impossible to get on the glass panels I have for my top. They don't open wide enough. Waste of $20.00 (s/h included).

...these are made for Perfecto glass tops...if you have All-Glass, Oceanic, AGA, Aqueon, etc... brand tanks they may not fit. This works fine on my Perfecto glass top.

Purchased 2 of these for my Marineland 55g glass canopy. They worked fine for me.

I was told when I ordered that it would fit a 1/8" glass top. It does not. Very dissapointed. Too much money to send back. It will only fit a very thin glass.<BR>
<b><i>That Fish Place: Hi Betty, thanks for commenting. This is the proper hinge for a smaller 30 in. or less glass canopy. It is designed to fit really snug, so it can be a tight fit when trying to attach it to your existing glass. You might find it easier to start on one end and slide it on from the side, rather than putting the entire length of the hinge on at once. It is glass, with an edge, so please be careful.
