Naturalistic Terrariums: Add a layer of Zoo Med HydroBalls for use as a drainage layer in the bottom of your terrarium. Place Zoo Med's Naturalistic Substrate Mesh on top of HydroBalls for filtration. Cover the mesh with Eco Earth Coconut Fiber Substrate. Add Zoo Med's New Zealand Sphagnum Moss on top of Eco Earth as the final substrate layer and moisten moss as desired. Moss can be placed around wood and live plants throughout the terrarium for a natural look.
All other terrariums: Moss can used either dry or moistened as needed for various applications. Moss can be used to create attractive hiding places for lizards and snakes to reduce stress and make them feel secure.
