Diandra is a fairly delicate plant with thin leaves on opposite sides of the delicate stem, forming a cross. The leaves are green but take on a reddish hue under intense light and proper water conditions. This plant does best in soft, slightly acidic water and requires CO2 and nutrient supplements. The leaves are easily damaged or torn off if disturbed.

"Tissue Culture" plants are lab-grown. They are offered in sealed cup and are grown in an artificial media, usually gel-based. This media should be rinsed off before planting and the individual plants can be separated for individual planting and aquascaping. Tissue Culture plants are typically free from nuisances like snails and algae.
