Alternanthera lilacina -Purple

Alternanthera has bronze-red leaves with purple undersides and tends to be easier than some of the other bright red plants available to aquarists. It will need moderately high light with regular iron supplements to stay healthy and retain its color. This plant grows fairly quickly and is best as a background plant.

Tissue Culture" plants are lab-grown. They are offered in sealed cup and are grown in an artificial media, usually gel-based. This media should be rinsed off before planting and the individual plants can be separated for individual planting and aquascaping. Tissue Culture plants are typically free from nuisances like snails and algae.
