Details
The Skunk Loach is a whitish to gray fish with a high arched back. The arch of the back is decorated with a black stripe that runs from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail, where it meets with a thin vertical band that runs down either side of the body.
The Skunk Loach is a relatively hardy fish that is easy to keep as long as the water quality is good. It is sensitive to cool water conditions, so be sure to keep the temperature within the recommended range.
The Skunk Loach is generally a peaceful fish, though it is known as a "fin-nipper". Take care when combining it with extremely docile or long-finned fishes. It does best with more aggressive fish and is great for a planted tank as it is a voracious snail-eater! It is nocturnal, and will hide under rocks and other decorations during the day. At night it will come out to feed and explore.
The Skunk Loach is omnivorous, and will accept a wide vareity of foods including worms, small snails, vegetable matter, sinking pellets, and other items it finds by sifting through the substrate.
