aqua clear 50

by

This is a great filter. Quite and easy to use!

aqua clear 50

I have 2 of these filters they both are used for my 30gal aquariums. They work very well, they are very reliable. I've had both filters for about 5+ years. They run all day every day. They are easy to clean. I like that i have the option to add or change the media I use to filter the water. I've had other filters, and they only use cartridges that use cotton material and carbon to filter water. With this filter It takes about 30 seconds to take the carbon out, or to switch to ammonia chips instead. I have 2 aqua clear 70's that I run on my 90gal tank. They are even older than the 50's that I run. They are such a great filter I don't think you could go wrong by having one.

Super quiet

by

It is truly quiet, as 2 users of it at ThatFishPlace told me. I am using it now.

i recently go this filter a week ago super quiet filter i got it to back up my tetra whisper 30/60 filter which came in a 55 gallon starter kit and it is in fact not whisper quiet pretty loud. the aquaclear u cant even hear it running like the snap on top and the flow is grate for the size of it if i ever need a nother filter for what ever reason i will get another aqua clear for sure. boxing was perfect with air bags.

AC50

I have 2 of these on my 55G planted, and bought another for my new 29G reef. They are great filters, quiet, easy to set up, and easy to maintain. I love that the filter cases are clear, so that you can see if you have a lot of debris buildup that needs to be cleaned out.

Not so great

by

These are great until your power goes out and you lose the prime before it comes back on. I had 3 of these for various tanks and lost all 3. The replacement pumps are just as expensive as buying a new filter. I am switching to underwater Fluvals to avoid this disaster again.

Very quiet

by

I have recently added this filter to my aquarium. Absolutely the quietest filter I have ever owned. The setup is fairly easy also.

Impeller assembly went bad

by

Purchased this filter about 6 months ago. Worked great for that time. Then started making a lot of noise. The impeller assembly is faulty and poorly designed at least in the one I have. To purchase a new impeller is close to the cost of the filter. Will be switching to another brand.
