Aquarium gravel from Estes is perfect for any freshwater or planted aquarium! Give your aquarium decor a natural appearance with Shallow Creek gravel, consisting of real stones you would find in an aquatic environment! Smaller size pebbles provide a larger surface area for the growth of beneficial bacteria and they prevent fish waste and debris from settling deep into your gravel bed. Will not affect your aquarium's pH.

For optimal decorative effect, use 1.5 - 2 lbs of gravel per gallon of aquarium capacity, or 180 - 240 grams per liter of aquarium capacity.

Place gravel in tank and add water. Use a filter to remove any suspended particles. Wait at least 48 hours before adding fish. We recommend using a water conditioner to remove chlorine, if present. Do not scrub or boil, use soaps, detergents or bleach.
