Details
Hemianthus micranthemoides is also known as "Pearl Grass" and has recently been reclassified as Hemianthus glomeratus in some references. If kept pruned and short, it will send out horizontal runners and form a carpet along the substrate. If not pruned, it will grow much taller and can be used as a mid- or background plant.
In addition to pruning, lighting also played a large role in the appearance of this plant. Under high lighting, this plant will grow much denser and lower. In moderate lighting, it will grow taller with sparser leaves.
"Tissue Culture" plants are lab-grown. They are offered in sealed cup and are grown in an artificial media, usually gel-based. This media should be rinsed off before planting and the individual plants can be separated for individual planting and aquascaping. Tissue Culture plants are typically free from nuisances like snails and algae.
